In May 2016, CHEST held its first Reddit AMA focused on Bronchial Thermoplasty with Dr. Kyle Hogarth. The AMA was upvoted (equivalent to a Facebook like, but works to push the thread to the front page of Reddit) more than 3,000 times and was on the front page of Reddit for more than five hours and had nearly 300 comments.

The format was useful in promoting research for the journal CHEST, advancing public knowledge of a treatment for severe asthma, and showcased a CHEST thought leader.
